Real Madrid make advances for PSG’s Verratti

Seen as the ideal replacement for Toni Kroos, Marco Verratti has been courted by Zidane.

Real Madrid want Marco Verratti at all costs, and with the looming departure of Toni Kroos, Zinedine Zidane has drawn parallels between the German and the Italian.
According to Sport, Florentino Perez has offered €50 million cash to PSG for the Italian jewel, but alas PSG have rejected the bid. They consider him a fundamental piece of the club’s plans for the future and have recently extended his contract until 2020.

More than likely, however, Real will relaunch their efforts in the coming days and a heavy offer could be on the way. Given the hyperinflation of the transfer market, a midfielder of Verratti’s quality could go for much more.
At this stage, it’s likely the two clubs will wait for other deals to pan out to get a better valuation of Verratti. Between the Pogba saga and Andre Gomes being signed by Barcelona for €50 million, a truer price tag could become evident sooner rather than later.
The 23-year-old Pescara born midfielder moved to Paris in 2012. Since then he’s gone on to appear 178 times and been a cornerstone of the Qatari owned club.
